On Monday I set-up decorations and a birthday dinner for my partner. Week days are so busy for us, that I knew something low key and simple would be exactly what Chelsea wanted for her birthday. Here was my process for pulling together a meaningful celebration in just a short amount of time!
Over the weekend, I purchased all the gifts and party decor. My first, and what ended up being my only (win!!), stop for party decor was Paper Source and they did not disappoint! I found this great “Happy BDay” set of gold foil balloons – these balloons became the focal point of my decor and they were so simple to inflate and string up. I also picked up their beautiful marbled gift bags – I love this color combo because I think it stays true to the season while being just a little different to make it special for the occasion. I also got a roll of their black and white striped wrapping paper – the quality of this wrapping paper is amazing. It’s super thick but still very easy to wrap with. It’s definitely one of my go-to’s for quality paper.
In the morning before leaving for work, I gathered some of my glassybaby, wrapped my gift and inflated the balloons and the birthday decor was ready in just under a half hour.
On my way home from work, I made a quick stop at the grocery store for ingredients for a birthday cocktail (Limoncello Mint Champagne!), then called in a dinner order at our favorite restaurant for take out (keeping it simple!!). I also went by Party City because a birthday celebration can never have too many balloons!
Once I got home I added the balloons to the decor I had set up in the morning, set the table for dinner, and was ready to celebrate! (the napkin rings were another Paper Source score, but I couldn’t find them online)
For dessert we had cupcakes from my favorite local bakery, Cupcake Royale, that were leftover from our family birthday dinner over the weekend!!
It was no-stress set-up for me, and was exactly what Chelsea had hoped for, so definitely a win-win!
Party on!
