Well, we made it to the end of election season. Finally! No matter who you voted for, I think one thing we can all agree on is we’re glad it’s coming to an end. And of course, for me, that means only one thing – this is a perfect reason to celebrate!
I’m traveling home from out of town tonight, so our Political Party won’t be anything fancy, but it’ll still be a great way to watch the votes come in and cheer on our candidates.
I found a great Star Spangled Sangria recipe that will be a perfect cocktail for the party. And, bonus, it’s super simple. You , too, could make a pit stop at the grocery store on your way home today (I know, I know, that’s everyone’s favorite thing to do…) and have this ready for tonight!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Champagne
- Dry white wine
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Granny Smith apples
Clean your fruit, dice up the strawberries and apples, and throw everything into a giant pitcher. And you’re done!
I’m going to serve this sangria in these awesome pint glasses made with 100% shattered glass ceiling. #imwithher
Another yummy option would be this red, white, and blue mojito! YUM!
I also pulled out some of my 4th of July decor and decor I used for an Arkansas Breakfast (the Arkansas flag colors are red, white, and blue). I put it to good use, along with some red, white, and blue candy from the bulk candy section at my grocery store.
Last February when I was home for a few days in Texas, I stopped by one of my favorite party supply stores, Swoozies, and they already had their election night goodies on display. I scooped up several items and I’m excited to put them to use tonight, too. The To the Left and Right On cups are both from Swoozies, along with the Political Jokes napkins.
I always enjoy having printed maps of the USA along with some red and blue colored pencils or crayons so everyone can color their own map to track the results.
I found a few great, free map printables online. This one from Urban Bliss is my favorite! It’s easy to read, prints clearly, and I love the red, white, and blue border.
And, how could I resist this pennant?! (from Hobby Lobby). I mean, the first female presidential nominee! I feel like that definitely deserves a “You Go Girl” !!
What are you doing to celebrate election night? I hope some of these ideas inspire you to throw your own Political Party!
Party on!
