It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Decorating for Christmas is always one of my favorite things to do to kick off the holiday season. I’m excited to share my favorite Christmas decorations with you for today’s Friday Favorites!
First up is my themed Christmas tree. I started doing two Christmas trees a few years ago. One is a themed, decorated tree, and the other has sentimental ornaments.
This year for the themed tree, I decided to go with olive green, silver, and gold. My tree is a silver tinsel tree that I’ve had forever, and it’s pretty kitchy. I’m thinking this might be its last year, because I’ve been swooning over flocked trees this season, so I think it’s time for an upgrade 😉
I found my fur and cable knit tree skirt at Michaels, and I just love it! It’s so cozy. I also found the glitter magnolia flowers at Michaels, and I feel like they add a nice touch to the tree. I’ve never really found a tree topper that I like, so I came up with my own using ribbon, hydrangeas and floral sticks.
My sentimental tree, my next favorite, is a tiny little thing. We are still in the beginning phases of collecting sentimental ornaments, so for now it’s the perfect size.
Our two new ornaments this year are the Mele Kalikimaka ornament from Maui and Penny’s Dog Bone (thanks Mom and Dad! She loves it!). I did another bow and floral tree topper for this tree, and the tree skirt is cable knit fabric from the craft store.
My bright and bold Christmas tree collection in the office is my next favorite. This display was inspired by the advent calendar I got from Target last year. I just love the non-traditional colors and the gold numbers!
I wrapped a piece of artwork in the tree fabric, set the trees (all from Hobby Lobby) in front, added in some glassybaby and it was complete. This particular display served as the inspiration for one of my Christmas party themes, so you’ll see it again later this month!
My next favorite is my Nativity. My mom and dad gave me this set years ago, and it’s been a treasure ever since.
The nativity sits in the little nook space of our television stand. I feel like it’s in the perfect spot, because it’s something we can see every time we watch television to keep the reason for the season in mind always.
My final favorite is our updated gallery wall. I traded out some of our usual gallery wall pieces for Christmas ones, and I am really pleased with how it turned out.
I found the wooden reindeer bust at Target, and I just had to have it! I love it!! The Christmas Tree marquee was a craft I shared earlier this week. “O Holy Night” is my favorite Christmas carol, so I was inspired to create this wooden sign. I made it on Christmas Eve last year, so I’m really enjoying it this year. And the Christmas package wreath was something I made last year as well. I’ll share all the details of that easy craft on Monday, so I hope you’ll stop back by!
Later today I’m headed to Sunnyside Nursery to make a wreath for the front door and get greenery for the finishing touches of the mantle. I’ll be sharing both of those projects soon!
Have a great weekend, friends!
Party on!
