I’m really looking forward to the Oscars this weekend! I’ve seen several of the films nominated, and I especially love watching the red carpet arrivals. And, it should come as no surprise that I’m turning watching the Oscars into a party!
My first favorite is the wreath I’ll have hanging on the door to welcome guests. The wreath isn’t theme-y (is that a word?), but it matches my color scheme and it’s something I can use throughout the spring.
I blogged about how to create this wreath on Monday. Check it out here.
My next favorite is this great Oscars ballot I found online here. I printed off copies, and have striped bags so everyone can keep their guesses secret. Then, at the end of the night, everyone can tally their guesses and the winner gets a prize!
I created a festive tablescape with movie snacks, and that’s another favorite this week.
The striped runner and pink fringe are from my favorite party store, Shop Sweet Lulu. I found the star plates and cups on Etsy, and picked up the movie candy and popcorn from the grocery store. I decided to keep it super simple with the snacks while still relating to the theme.
And of course the Oscars party needs a cocktail! My next favorite is the cocktail I created for New Year’s Eve, a champagne mule. It’ll work perfect for the Oscars too!
Get the recipe here, and trust me – it’s delicious!
I’ve always loved hearing about the swag bags presenters get at the Oscars, so I thought a fun party favor would be a swag bag for everyone to take home! Of course, mine isn’t nearly as extravagant, but it has a few of my favorite items for guests to enjoy, and it’s my final favorite this week!
I included a mini bottle of Prosecco, nail lacquer, and tassel wine charms. I packaged everything up in a fun little gift bag and the swag bag is all set!
Are you watching the Oscars? What films do you love? How are you celebrating?
Have a great weekend and party on!
