Happy Thursday! It’s been all things Christmas this week on my blog. On Monday and Tuesday, I shared the holiday decor in our house (you can read those posts here and here). Today, I’m sharing the perfect cocktail for sipping this season! It’s full of peppermint flavor, toasty warm, and great when the weather outside is frightful.
When I went to Victoria, B.C. with my Girl Scout troop a couple weeks ago, we stopped at an adorable little tea shop, Silk Road Teas, and I picked up a little tin of their loose leaf candy cane tea. I also found a festive Christmas mug and reindeer stirring spoon, and I couldn’t wait to use the tea to create a holiday cocktail to serve in my new mug! Here are a few snaps from our weekend in Victoria:
So back to the cocktail – it was actually suggested by the tea shop, and it is delicious! And, it’d work great with a similar peppermint tea – though I must suggest you try this candy cane one if you ever get the chance. It is yummy!!
Here’s what you need for one cocktail:
- 1 cup of steaming brewed candy cane tea
- 1 oz vodka
- 1 candy cane for garnish
And here’s what you do:
- Bring water to a full rolling boil
- Pour into your cup
- Put one tsp. of the loose tea leaves into a tea strainer, let steep for 7 to 10 minutes
- Add vodka and stir
- Add candy cane and serve
So simple and delicious, and it’ll definitely give you rosy cheeks! I hope you’ll give it a try this season! Check back tomorrow for more holiday decorations in our home.
Party on!
