Happy Friday! I returned to my blog this week after taking a bit of a hiatus to get married!! I’ve been reflecting on some of my favorite wedding details here and on my new Julie Wendell Events Instagram. I’m excited to share a few here with you!
My first favorite detail was the beautiful cakes we had at our events. We did a classic cake for our ceremony dinner and then did a playful PANcake for our brunch reception. Both were delicious creations from my favorite local bakery, Jenny Cookies Bakeshop.
They were as beautiful as they were delicious!
Another favorite detail was the travel locations we used in place of table numbers. I loved this unique way we shared a piece of our story with our guests. Read the full post and the details on the places we’ve been here.
So fun, right?!
My mom, mother-in-law, and I created all the flower arrangements for the ceremony and reception. I had so much fun putting these together, and I love the way they turned out. We used floral foam for most of the arrangements, and it is my new favorite thing. We still have a few arrangements that are going strong two weeks later!
Here’s a photo play-by-play of how we created the floral wreaths that we used on the tables.
I love all the flowers and greenery we chose, and my favorite is the dusty miller plant (the gray leaf), which apparently is classified as a weed! And I loved all the glassybaby votives we tucked in the arrangements and throughout the venue.
My next favorite detail was the gift bags we put together for out of town guests. The main part of the gift is the bag itself, which we hope will be a fun keepsake for everyone to remember the weekend by. Inside, we put a few of our favorite local treats (chips, chocolate, and sparkling water – all made locally) and some travel guides for all of our favorite spots in the area.
I created a Pinterest Board with tons of other welcome bag ideas – check it out here!
My final favorite detail is our amazing photographer. She sent us a sneak peek of our wedding photos this week and we LOVE them, and can’t wait to see the rest. Local friends, if you’re looking for a photographer, I can’t say enough good things about Sarah Harris Photography.

There are so many other details from the wedding that I loved, and I’ll be sharing more about the wedding as we get more pictures from our photographer. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, happy weekend!
Party on!
