As we approach our two month anniversary, I’m loving reflecting on our wedding weekend this week on the blog. Yesterday I shared all about our wedding day details, and today I’m taking a look back at the events of our wedding day.
Our wedding day is definitely one of those days that I hope I’ll always remember every detail. Thankful for the stunning photos that will help with that!
The morning was nice and relaxed. Chelsea and I got to her parents’ house around 10:00 and had our hair done. Penny was keeping watch over the downstairs, making sure it was set-up to her liking.
Around one o’clock, our photographer, Sarah, arrived, and Chelsea, Penny, and I did some photos. I made Penny a flower “crown” to wear in the photos, using this tutorial, which she, of course, hated. Thankfully, she was a good sport for a few pics, and then we abandoned it and took some pics sans crown. š Our family and besties arrived close to two o’clock. As everyone arrived, our wedding rings were passed around for people to bless/pray over before the ceremony began. Our officiant was a family friend, and she created the perfect ceremony for us. She had previously interviewed our parents and incorporated their sentiments. Funny story – before we met with our officiant, we had said, “our one rule is that we don’t have to write our own vows.” Then when we met with our officiant and she said, “my one rule is that you have to write your own vows.” So anyway, Chelsea and I wrote our own vows. š Of course, the pictures of us at the ceremony are a treasure, and I’m also so glad we have pictures of our family watching the ceremony. Both such special perspectives of the day. After the ceremony, we received hugs all around. Then, Chelsea and I went upstairs with our two best friends and our officiant to have a toast and sign our marriage license. Once we were back downstairs, we did a big group toast, and enjoyed some appetizers and conversation. We spent some time taking family photos outside on the gorgeous November day, then enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Chelsea’s mom and aunt. We ended the night with cake, then headed home fairly early so we could be bright-eyed and well-rested for our brunch reception! Check back tomorrow for our reception details.Party on!
