At the end of every school year, my Girl Scout troop celebrates with an awards celebration. In 2013, it was NEON! The girls thought of the theme after narrowing it down from a long list that included unicorns, of course. I had a blast coming up with ideas for this party.
Painted frames, a black curtain, and neon tassels made a great photo booth!
The table set-up.
I used a couple drops of neon orange paint to color the water. I don’t know if I’d ever do this again – it was a good idea in theory, but it ended up looking like the flowers were in orange juice!
Favors and awards!
Neon straws with mustaches, because why not?!
We all wore neon to match the theme, because if it isn’t neon it shouldn’t be on.
I used the tassel garland for the first time at this party, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I loved the favors – they were simple, inexpensive, and useful post-party. Emi Jay hair ties are my favorite, and I found the same elastic ribbon on Etsy to make my own. And neon wayfarers?! #hip
When I first got started with the decor, it was all feeling a little, well, neon. I opted to add some black touches as my neutral and I think it really helped.
I think this party theme could be really fun for a birthday party or bachelorette party! For a birthday party, how cute are these cakes?!
Love the glow sticks incorporated with this – so fun!
My 16-year-old self is swooning over this cake. The splatter paint look – yes please!
And look at these fun bachelorette party ideas:

Love this idea! Could be a fun idea for the wedding, too!
Welcome box for the Bachelorette party guests – all neon, of course!
I can always count on Pinterest for fun ideas, and the neon party was no exception. I think I may need to bring this theme back again in the near future!
