Greek Night Dinner

This week I’m on vacation in Oregon, and each family hosts dinner one night while we’re here. Last night was our turn and we decided it would be Greek-themed. I volunteered to be in charge of decorations, obviously 🙂

I thought the Greek flag was the perfect inspiration, so I went with that and gathered and bought blue and white decor!

Friday Favorites: Gifts under $50 at the Nordstrom Sale

It’s Anniversary Sale time at Nordstrom!! I love the preview of fall in the heat of summer, though I will say it’s a little hard to think about coats, scarves, and boots when it’s just finally warm enough to wear shorts here in the Pacific Northwest. I love it nevertheless 🙂

I stopped by yesterday (it’s early access for cardholders through the 21st, then open to everyone after that until August 8) to check out the sale items and put together my list of favorite gift ideas.

#tbt: Let’s Flamingle Party

I’ve been brainstorming and exploring Pinterest this week as I prepare for a retreat I’m helping host next month, and it got me reminiscing about last year’s retreat theme – Flamingos!

I’m a sorority advisor, and each August the chapter officers come together for a retreat to gear up for the fall semester. I think it’s important to incorporate fun and learning, so I always like to tie a theme to the retreats to make them more exciting and memorable.

I was (and still am) loving flamingos, and I found a great saying that I incorporated into the retreat to tie it all together – “When birds of a feather work together, great things happen!”

Check it out…

Make it Monday: Chocolate Chunk Cookies

I’m back! I had a wonderful College Tour trip with my Girl Scouts and it was so exciting to see them explore opportunities for their future.

A couple weeks ago, I was shopping at Williams-Sonoma when I came across a boxed chocolate chunk cookie mix from Bouchon Bakery. I LOVE Bouchon, so I decided to give them a try. I’m always looking for quick and easy baking mixes for those times I need to take dessert to a party or have something on hand when people come over.

College Tour Trip

Today I’m headed off to Eastern Washington with my Girl Scout troop! We’re visiting 6 universities and staying in a sorority house. I’m so excited for the girls to experience college life. I got the girls tank tops to wear while we’re on our trip, plus a bag of road trip goodies (snacks, hand sanitizer, and a journal to write notes about each college)

Keep up with our adventure on Instagram. I’ll be back next week!

Party on!

Sweet Summertime

It was a cold, rainy Fourth of July here in the Pacific Northwest, so I spent the day crafting and getting excited for the warmer weather to come. I decided it was time to trade out my pineapple wreath for a new summer wreath to last through July, and I also wanted to update my mantle. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to make when I went to Michaels, but then I spotted these adorable ice cream bowls, and I had my theme. I couldn’t find my exact set online, but at my local Michaels they were in the party section. This photo shows a slightly different color set.

Friday Favorites: Pineapples

This week’s blog posts have been all things Pineapples! If you missed any of the posts, you can read about my pineapple crafts here and my pineapple party here. You can also find my post about making a pineapple wreath here. As I was gathering things in preparation for the pineapple party, I came across so many fun pineapples everywhere, so I thought I’d share my favorites!

First up is this awesome pineapple pool floatie. I’m loving this and I think it’d make a great gift for a summer birthday, graduation, or housewarming if the new house has a pool!
