#tbt: Library Baby Shower

In the spirit of Back to School, I’m loving the opportunity to reminisce about some of my favorite school-themed parties I’ve thrown. Last week I threw it back to a Kindergarten Kick-off and today I’m excited to share the details of a Library-themed Baby Shower I threw for my brother and sister-in-law a few years ago.

My sister-in-law has always been a book lover, so this theme seemed like the perfect one to shower her and my brother as they awaited the arrival of my niece.

To set the tone for the party, I sent out these invitations (designed with Photoshop and printed at Costco).

Tasty Tuesday: Lapu Lapu Cocktail

In an effort to savor every last bit of summer, I’m sharing my favorite recipe hack for one of my most favorite summer cocktails – the Lapu Lapu found at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

I first discovered this drink a few years ago on a trip to Disney World and I was so excited when I found the recipe to recreate it at home.

Friday Favorites: What a Week!

There’s really no theme to this week’s Friday Favorites – it’s just a list of my favorite things that happened since last Friday. It’s been a busy and fun week!!

First up was my Olympics Opening Ceremonies Party! It was a hit, particularly with three seven-year-olds who really got into the Olympic spirit! There’s a future swimmer, dog sled racer, and basketball star in that trio.

After the party was over, I redecorated my mantle so we could enjoy the party decor throughout the Olympics.

Friday Favorites: Olympic Cocktails!

The day is here! It’s Opening Ceremonies Day! I’m so excited to watch, and I’m equally excited about these five cocktails that will keep the party going for the full two weeks of Olympic festivities.

First up is a great mocktail for the kids – it’s an Olympic Torch drink, made like a mimosa except with sparkling cider, and then there’s a splash of grenadine to light it on fire! Gold rimmed high ball glass found here.

Olympic Party Decor

I’ve been gearing up for an Olympics Opening Ceremony party tomorrow night, and today I’m talking decor! If you missed my earlier posts, you can learn about my Olympic Torch Cupcakes here, and an Olympic Photo Prop here.

For the last Summer Olympics, I had traveled to my parents’ cabin, so my space was limited. In addition to the themed food, I brought photo booth props that were so fun!

This time, since the party is local, I could be a bit more elaborate with the decor. I went with my old standard, Shop Sweet Lulu, for most of the decor, and like usual they did not disappoint!
