Friday Favorites: September Round-up

I cannot believe tomorrow is the first day of October! I seriously feel like it was JUST the 4th of July. September was a busy month for me with some travel, house projects, work, work, work, AND some fun parties and fall crafts!!

The first week of September I pulled out my Back to School party supplies and hosted a little gathering for some new Kindergartners! It was really fun to celebrate them and they were SO excited to start school. This was definitely a favorite this month.

Decorating for fall

Over the weekend, in addition to making my new fall wreath, I also got my house all decorated for fall!

I like to bring out my pumpkins as soon as I can, so the first fall weekend seemed like the perfect opportunity. My fall mantle is probably my favorite mantle of all. It’s where I display the variety of pumpkins I’ve collected over the years. I used the same lesson in symmetry that I used when I was working on my fall wreath. Here’s how the mantle came together…

I always start from the outside and work my way in, balancing pieces as I go. After giving my mantle a good cleaning, I was ready to start. First up were two tall pieces to flank each side. I opted for a tall candlestick and my large glass apothecary jar filled with fall potpourri and pumpkins.

Make it Monday: Fall Wreath

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was spent doing a little bit of work and a whole lot of crafting!

Every season I like to make a new wreath, and since that can get expensive, I usually like to try and recycle pieces from old wreaths as much as I can and/or find things on sale at the craft store. For my new fall wreath, I was able to do both.

Friday Favorites: Happy Fall!

It’s been a whirlwind week for me – I was traveling for my sorority this week visiting the Kappa Delta chapter at The College of New Jersey! That said, today’s Friday Favorites are pretty random 🙂

My first favorite is the birthday party I helped decorate for before I left for the east coast! My partner’s grandpa turned 83 this month, so the whole family got together to have dinner and celebrate him. As I was styling for the party, I wanted to make sure it was simple, classy, and personal. I decided on a color palate of blues and browns and used family photos in simple frames to add a personal touch. I was really pleased with how it all came together!

Friday Favorites: Football Parties

Happy Friday! We’re just a week away from the official start of fall, but I think the start of football season is the real indicator. I really enjoy a good football-watching party – it’s the perfect excuse for some fun decorations and delicious food!

Today, I’m sharing my favorite must-haves for any football-watching party. First up, I’m sharing my favorite items for your table top!

I just love this great table runner. It’d be the perfect setting for a buffet of game-watching snacks. On top of the table runner, you’d need some perfect party dishes, and I think these are just the thing.

To accompany the plates, I think solid or simple patterned napkins in your teams colors would look great. For me, my team’s colors are red and black, so I’d go with these napkins. I love them for their color combo, and I think the buffalo check is so cozy and feels perfect for fall.

Friday Favorites: Friendship

Happy Friday friends! I love the month of September for many reasons, and one of those is that it’s International Women’s Friendship Month! This celebration of friendship was created by my sorority, Kappa Delta. It started as a one day event back in 1999 and in 2009 it was expanded to the entire month. I think it’s so cool that there’s an entire month dedicated to celebrating the special friendships women share across the world.

Today, I’m going to share with you my favorite ideas for celebrating your friends near and far!

First up, if you have friends who live far away, a handwritten card is a favorite. I feel like this is a lost art, and is so appreciated by the recipient especially when it’s a surprise in the mail! Target has some really great friendship cards in their “Just Wink” collection right now.

Friday Favorites: Summer Parties!

Well it’s Labor Day Weekend, so I guess there’s no denying it, summer is coming to an end. I’m really looking forward to the fall and I thought it’d be fun to officially close out summer with a look back at my favorite summer parties.

My first favorite was putting together some party ideas to celebrate dad! I love turning to Paper Source for party inspiration, and they didn’t disappoint.
