As a Texas native, I’ve had my fair share of awesome and not-as-awesome margaritas over the years and I definitely have a favorite go-to recipe. So, in honor of National Margarita Day, I’m sharing it with you!
Ingredients for one drink:
- Salt, for rimming the glass
- Ice
- 1 1/2 ounces tequila (blanco, 100 percent agave)
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 ounce Cointreau
- Orange slice
Salt the rim of the glass using the orange slice so the salt sticks. Shake the rest of the ingredients with cracked ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into your glass over ice. Add the orange slice as garnish to showcase the fact that the margarita has orange flavor from the Cointreau. Serve and enjoy! Cheers!
Another favorite margarita recipe I use during the holidays is the cranberry orange one I shared a couple months ago.
Happy Margarita Day and party on!
