Tasty Tuesday: Summer Twists on a classic Moscow Mule

Continuing with the copper theme this week, today’s Tasty Tuesday is all about some simple twists on the classic Moscow Mule, best served, of course, in a copper mug.

Before we get to the recipe, here are some of my favorite copper mugs!

Copper Mug 1 | Copper Mug 2 | Copper Mug 3

My favorite is Mug 3 above, and I own a pair similar to that one, plus cute copper straws that compliment the mugs perfectly.

I discovered the Moscow Mule a few years ago, and it’s definitely one of my favorite cocktails. It’s so refreshing and so easy to recreate at home. Over the holidays, I shared this recipe for a champagne mule that is super yummy.

Today, I’m sharing some refreshing remakes on the classic recipe, perfect for summer!

First up is the Grapefruit Mint Mule. Here’s what you’ll need to make four cocktails:

mule 2

  • 4 oz lime juice
  • 8 oz grapefruit juice
  • 8 oz citrus vodka (I chose grapefruit vodka to give it that extra grapefruit punch!)
  • Crushed Ice
  • Ginger Beer (I really like this Dry Soda Ginger Beer!)
  • Mint, grapefruit, and lime wedges to garnish

  1. Mix the lime juice, grapefruit juice, and vodka.
  2. Pour equally into the four cups, then add crushed ice.
  3. Top with ginger beer.
  4. Garnish.
  5. Enjoy!

And next up is the Blackberry Basil Mule! Here’s what you’ll need for four cocktails:

  • 1 cup blackberries, plus extra to garnish
  • 10 basil leaves, plus extra to garnish
  • 8 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. lime juice
  • Crushed Ice
  • Ginger beer

  1. Add the blackberries, basil, and vodka to a cocktail shaker and muddle.
  2. Fill the shaker 3/4 full with crushed ice and shake to chill.
  3. Strain the mixture equally among four cups.
  4. Add crushed ice to each cup.
  5. Top with ginger beer.
  6. Garnish.
  7. Enjoy!

Both versions are very simple and super tasty!

I’ll be back Friday sharing my copper favorites! See you back here then.

Party on!
