Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I am back at work this week after a wonderful visit to Sunriver, Oregon. I’ll be sharing the details of my trip later this week, and today, I’m sharing a fun summer cocktail inspired by a visit to Treveri Winery. Chelsea and I have stopped at Treveri for the past three summers on our roadtrip to Sunriver, and it’s always a stop I look forward to.
The winery grounds are gorgeous, the food is amazing, and the wine tasting is FREE!
In addition to the free tastings, they also have some pretty amazing cocktails featuring their sparkling wines, and one of my favorites is their Syrah Sangria. I love it so much, I was inspired to buy a bottle and recreate it at home!
So, here’s what I used to make one pitcher full, which would make four cocktails…
- Treveri Sparkling Syrah (if you want to make this, but can’t find Sparkling Syrah, you could use any dark sparkling wine)
- Raspberry Apple Brandy (this is another local Washington favorite, but any brandy would work)
- Orange
- Lime
- Raspberries
- Aromatic Bitters (found at the grocery store near the cocktail mixers)
- Pineapple juice (not pictured, but used a small can)
And here’s what I did…
I added four cups of Sparkling Syrah to my pitcher, followed by one cup of pineapple juice.
Next, I added one cup of raspberry brandy, then juiced my orange and added that juice and the orange slices to my pitcher.
I sliced the lime, and added those plus the raspberries to the pitcher.
And, last, but not least, I added two dashes of the bitters to the pitcher.
Once everything was added, I gave the pitcher a good stir with my wooden spoon, then let it sit and “marinate” in the fridge for a few hours. Once it was nice and cold, I served it up in my favorite glasses (which are currently on sale!!)! YUM!!
It’s so refreshing and fruity! And, even though it’s a Syrah, because it’s sparkling, it’s nice and light and perfect for summer!
Happy Tasty Tuesday!
Party on!
