Friday Favorites: NYE Night In!

Happy Friday! I can’t believe we’re just 2 days away from ringing in the new year! This year, well every year actually (ha!), we’re having a low-key, quiet night at home. Honestly, it’s my favorite way to ring in the new year – no pressure, relaxed, and cozy. Just because we’re staying in, doesn’t mean it can’t be festive! So, I thought it’d be fun to come up with a list of my favorite ideas for a New Year’s Night In, in case you’re like us and plan on staying in too.

Oh What Fun! Party

One week until Christmas?! Where has this year gone?? I’m enjoying a full two weeks off of work, and I kicked off my winter break with a little slumber party with my Girl Scout troop this past weekend. This summer, the girls made a bucket list of things they wanted to do in their last year of Scouts (they all graduate in June), and a slumber party at my house was on the list. They said they wanted to watch movies and do crafts, so that’s exactly what I planned.

After shopping around for decorations, I found some adorable plates that said, “Oh what fun!” and decided that would be the theme for the party.

To set the tone for the party, I used my favorite online invitation platform, Paperless Post.

Since our house was already decorated for Christmas (read about that here), I didn’t want to go over the top with too much additional decor. So, I gathered the plates, some fun Continue reading

Friday Favorites: Plaid Tidings Party

Happy Friday, everyone! And happy last day of work for the winter break for me. Eeeks! I feel very fortunate to work somewhere that gives us two weeks off at Christmas. Bring on the holidays!

This past weekend, I hosted a Plaid Tiding Party for my girlfriends, and I’ve been sharing all the party details this week. My first favorite this week is the party decorations.

Plaid Tidings Party: What I Wore

The Plaid Tidings Party I threw last weekend wouldn’t have been complete without plaid party wear! I searched for a few weeks for the perfect plaid piece, and was thrilled to find a festive pair of plaid flats that were perfect. I also found a great ruffle sweatshirt and paired both with black jeans and red earrings, and I was ready to party!

Here are some of my other favorite plaid items, perfect for the holiday season, if you are plaid to the bone like me 😉

ruffle sweatshirt | coat | scarf 2

And if you’re looking for some plaid lounge wear, here are my favorites:

I hope you’re feeling inspired to add some plaid to your holiday wardrobe!

Party on!

Plaid Tidings Party: Decor

This weekend, I hosted a Plaid Tidings Party and it was so much fun! When I asked my girlfriends what they wanted to do at our annual holiday gathering this year, they said they wanted me to teach them how to make wreaths. I happily obliged! And since I want all the plaid things right now, I thought a Plaid Tidings Wreath Making Party would be the perfect event. To set the tone right off the bat, I used Paperless Post to send e-invitations.

Since I hosted this party at someone else’s house, all my decorations had to be portable and easy to set up/take down, so I limited it to one main themed table, plus the crafting table. I love the mixtures of plaid throughout, from the wreath ribbons, to plaid ornaments, to the plates and napkins! Friday Favorites: Holiday Food Gifts under $25

Happy Friday! Today I’m excited to share my favorite gifting ideas for neighbors, coworkers, teachers, etc. I think food gifts are so great, because they’re easy, practical, and fun.

I like to give food gifts to our neighbors and my coworkers, because it’s a thoughtful gift for someone you may not know super well. I’ve come up with a list of my favorites, several of which we’re using this year!

I thought it’d be fun to use the same box, but pack it five different ways, to show you exactly how I gift these items. I picked up a Sugar Paper LA box from Target – I chose white, so it’d be neutral and let the gift items be the stars. I filled the box with white crinkle, and it was ready to be dressed up.
