This weekend, we celebrated two years with our sweet puppy, Penny! When we adopted her, the shelter estimated that she was one year old, so we also celebrated her third birthday the same day!
Last year, we did a full puppy themed PAWty (read about that here), and this year Penny wanted something a little more spring ๐ So, I decided Penny’s Peony Party would fit the bill!
Lots of pink, lots of peonies, and, of course, lots of puppy treats!
I first layered some wrapping paper as my table cover. I love using wrapping paper instead of a table cloth. I like the versatility and the fact that it can be discarded after the party. I found a great wrapping paper at Hobby Lobby that was printed with a wooden background and peonies, so it was perfect.
On top of the paper, I brought out all my pink vases, cake plates, and glassybaby. I also bought some pink peonies and a pink glitter banner at Michaels to add to the decor.
For the place settings, I found some soft pink plates and bowls at HomeGoods that were perfect. I also found some pink napkins at Michaels in their new Martha Stewart Party collection.
For Penny’s birthday gift, I found some pink pet supplies at HomeGoods, and my parents sent the cutest little pack of cookies that just happened to be pink. They also ordered Penny a BarkBox and it came with the cutest toy that’s a bouquet of flowers. Penny LOVES it, and it fit the theme perfectly! I wrapped a box in pink peony paper and tucked all her gifts inside.
Chelsea and I enjoyed some teriyaki chicken, pineapples, and mushrooms on the grill. Penny got a hotdog, some bacon, and a Puppacino from Starbucks. We all enjoyed our delicious dinners.
It was a great day, and we loved celebrating our favorite little pup! And she was tired by the end, so I call that a win. ๐
Party on!
