Happy Thursday, friends! This week, it’s all about April {Engagement} Showers! On Tuesday, I shared a really fun, simple theme for an Engagement Shower!
Read that post here.
Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a classic cocktail -the French 75. This cocktail would be perfect for an engagement shower because it involves champagne…and gin…yesss!
Here’s what’s in one cocktail…
- 1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tsp. powdered sugar
- 1 ounce gin
- champagne
- lemon garnish
And here’s how to make one cocktail…
- First, measure out the lemon juice, powdered sugar, and gin into a cocktail shaker (this is my shaker, which I love).
- Top the ingredients with ice and give the mixture a good shake.
- Strain into a champagne glass.
- Top with champagne
- Add a lemon garnish (use this tool, a citrus stripper, to get the perfect garnish)
- Serve and enjoy!
For a party, mix a big batch of the lemon, sugar, and gin mixture in a pitcher and set next to a few bottles of champagne. Add a bowl of lemon garnish to the display. Put the cocktail instructions on a chalkboard or tag and set next to the ingredients, and you’re all set!
This drink is refreshing any time of year, and the champagne component makes it super celebratory so it’s great for an engagement or bridal shower!
Party on!
