Friday Favorites: Sunny Day

Happy Friday! This week I’ve been reflecting on a fun Sesame Street baby shower I threw for a friend, so those details and other sunny favorites make up my list this week.

I love the Sesame Street theme song, “Sunny day, sweepin’ the clouds away…” It is so cheery, just like the Sesame Street gang. I had so much fun putting this shower together with all the bright and sunny details – definitely a favorite.

Sesame Street Baby Shower

Last week I had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower for one of my dear friends as we await the arrival of her first baby, a son, who they’re naming Ernesto. They will call him Ernie for short, so naturally, I thought a Sesame Street Baby Shower was a must!

I first turned to Etsy and found a TON of cute stuff. I coupled that with some great finds at Fred Meyer and Party City and I love how the whole thing came together.

Julie Travels: Sorority Recruitment Week

Hi there! I’m back to my blog today after a busy couple of weeks in Pullman, Washington at Washington State University. I recently changed roles on the advisory board I serve on for my sorority and now support the sorority recruitment process!

Since the recruitment process is basically a week of parties, I thought it’d be fun to highlight a few of the days here.

First up, I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to the person who planned recruitment, the chapter’s VP-Membership, Cali. She and her assistant Delaney did an amazing job and it was a wonderful week of sisterhood and celebration.

This year, 1100 women registered for sorority recruitment Continue reading

Friday Favorites: Baskets and Brunch

Hey there! This week has been all about putting together gift baskets and thinking about brunch so those are my favorites this week!

First up is the blog post I shared about gift baskets. We’ve had several showers over the last few weeks, so I’ve been putting together gift baskets and shared a few of my faves!

Basketcase 2.0

Happy August! Today, I’m chatting about my most favorite gift to give – a gift basket! I call this post 2.0 because I blogged about some fun gift basket ideas a couple years ago (here), and I’m excited to share even more ideas today.

One of the reasons I love gift baskets so much is that I find them so fun to put together. I like to come up with a theme, and then I enjoy the hunt for items to match that theme!

My current favorite gift basket idea is this bloody mary brunch kit! I found these adorable napkins and plates from Swoozies, and the idea was born. I got the galvanized tin from Target and tucked all the necessary bloody mary supplies inside (vodka, seasoning, tomato juice, a bloody mary rimming salt, and asparagus). I love how it turned out, and it’ll be perfect for a bridal shower brunch!
