Last week I had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower for one of my dear friends as we await the arrival of her first baby, a son, who they’re naming Ernesto. They will call him Ernie for short, so naturally, I thought a Sesame Street Baby Shower was a must!
I first turned to Etsy and found a TON of cute stuff. I coupled that with some great finds at Fred Meyer and Party City and I love how the whole thing came together.
We were holding this shower at my office during a sorority advisor meeting, so our space was limited to a meeting room. I decorated one side table for gifts, and then decorated the main table where we sat.
On the side table, I first put down some colorful wrapping paper. On top of that I added an adorable “Ernie Street” sign, some Sesame Street character prints, Sesame Street stuffed animals, flowers, a felt sign, glassybaby votives, and the drink dispenser (more on the fun drink later this week!).
On the main table, I used the same wrapping paper, then added some cake plates down the center for people to put their food (we did an appetizer potluck). I also tucked in some more character prints, stuffed animals, and glassybaby votives. I put a Sesame Street coloring page and little treat containers at each place setting for the guests.
To the mom-to-be’s chair, I tied a bouquet of fun Sesame Street balloons.
The shower turned out so great, and I loved the opportunity to celebrate baby Ernie! I found an awesome hooded Ernie towel that I had embroidered and I hope it keeps him nice and cozy after bath time.
Check back later this week for the fun drink I served at the shower.
Party on!
