Today is our two month anniversary, and in celebration, I’ve been reflecting on our wedding events! We got our pictures back a few weeks ago, and it has been so fun to look back and remember the special weekend being surrounded by so many of our favorite people.
Tuesday and yesterday, I blogged about our wedding day, and today and tomorrow I’ll be sharing wedding reception details.
When we were first deciding on our wedding reception details, we knew we wanted it to be a little different. We both love brunch, so we thought that would be the perfect way to celebrate. We toured several venues before finally selecting the Fremont Foundry. It is an event space with an urban and industrial vibe, and we loved that it was basically a blank slate that we could really customize.
In the entry way, we put a large display board with table assignments. Our table numbers were table locations instead, featuring some of our favorite places we’ve traveled together. You can read all about how we brought this idea to life here.
We put a “Wish You Were Here” table in the entry way as well, where we displayed pictures of relatives who have passed away. We really wanted a special way to honor and remember them.
For our gift table, I found a mailbox to hold cards, and put a matching sign with it, along with flowers and glassybaby votives. We wanted a special way to recognize and celebrate Penny, so we had dog treats available for our guests to take home. We had a cartoon drawing of Penny made to accompany the treats.
We opted for round tables with gray linens and navy napkins, in keeping with our color scheme for our guest tables. For table numbers, we had our copper display stands, flower arrangements, ceramic pumpkins, and glassybaby votives.
For the head table, we did one long table with a greenery garland down the center, and white flowers, ceramic pumpkins, and glassybaby votives tucked inside.
We had a coffee cart and bar area for guests to enjoy custom coffee drinks and/or mimosas and beer. We made custom coffee sleeves for the coffee cups, and served the mimosas and beer in glassware.
As a party favor for our guests, we opted to bring in a photo van. Guests could take unlimited pictures and get a photo strip as a memory. Take a peek at all the photos our guests took here.
Brunch was chicken and waffle bites, custom sweet and savory crepes, fruit, and scrambled eggs. Everything was delicious, and our favorite was the little bites with the maple syrup pipette. Yes please!
Dessert (because every good brunch needs dessert ;)) was donuts. We chose a variety of flavors of old fashioned (plain glazed, maple, chocolate, and sprinkle) donuts and stacked them on clear acrylic cake stands. They joined the table with our pancake cake, which was mostly a showpiece and treat for Chelsea and me. We also added wedding photos of our parents and my grandmother and grandfather (with whom we share an anniversary!).
I really love how everything for the reception came together! Check back tomorrow to see snapshots from the celebration.
Party on!
