I have had fun getting our house decorated in all the love! I madeover our fireplace and front porch for the holiday.
First up, the front porch. I made the wreath a few years ago, but it was time for a refresh, so I took it apart and added in some new flowers. I love using the white wood with the red and pink flowers to make it really bright and festive. I reattached the gold glitter X and O and tucked in some pink and gold ribbon as a finishing touch.
I found a red heart mat on Amazon, and it was the perfect compliment to the wreath.
Next up was decorating the mantle. I was inspired by a design I saw on the NBC show “Making It.” It’s a craft show starring Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. If you haven’t seen it, you should totally check it out.
So anyway, back the mantle…. My vision was to have the Valentines spilling out of the mailbox down the side of the fireplace.
I bought a lot of blank valentine cards, tags, stickers, and ribbon. I brought out the mailbox we used at our wedding, along with some heart confetti, and glassybaby votives, and got to work.
I used tape to attach the cards to each other and to the mantle.
Once everything was attached, I tucked in the glassybaby votives and confetti. I lit the votives, and the mantle was complete. I love how it turned out!
How are you decorating for Valentine’s Day?
Party on!
