A couple weeks ago, I hosted a retirement celebration with a Garden Party theme. I loved how it all turned out!
Check out the details here.
Today I’m sharing the recipe for the delicious sunrise grapefruit cocktail we served at the party. It was delicious and refreshing!
Here’s what you need to make the cocktail.
- 1 part grapefruit vodka
- 2 parts tonic
- 1 part orange liqueur
- splash of lemon juice
- splash of grenadine
- top with a grapefruit wedge and a sprig of rosemary
I made a menu to set out with all the ingredients so guests could build their own cocktail, but you could certainly make a big pitcher to have ready for guests to just pour and go.
I used the Rifle Paper Co. background that I downloaded from the internet to create the background for my cocktail menu, then just added the instructions over the top, printed it, and framed it. It was super easy to make, and I loved the extra touch it added to the bar area with flowers and a glassybaby votive.
I found these awesome customizable acrylic stir sticks and had them personalized with “cheers on retirement kim!” Now, they would’ve been perfect for the party, if only they had arrived on time… so I got to photograph them for this post, and I plan to give them to Kim to enjoy in her cocktails now that she is officially retired! Oh well, best laid plans, as they say…
I love how the grenadine creates a layered “sunrise” effect in the cocktail. I’m sure I’ll be sipping these all summer long.
Party on!
