This week, paradise was found on my blog with a recap of our trip to Fiji. I’ve really loved reminiscing about our honeymoon and I’m so glad I’ll have this documented to help me recall for years to come.
My first favorite is the post I shared about our day trip to Malamala Beach Club. We loved this day in Fiji, and it was the a great opportunity to get out and see a little bit more of the country. And, we got to snorkel in the crystal clear water, so that rocked, too.
Read that post here.
Another favorite was our gorgeous resort and all the time we got to spend there. We loved how isolated and beautiful it was, and our ocean-front bure was amazing.
Read all about the resort here.
We got to do a little bit of shopping in Fiji, and I found some great souvenirs to remember the trip by, including this beach bag and tote bag (which we gifted to Chelsea’s mom for Mother’s Day). Both were handmade by local Fijian women and purchasing the bag helps support these artisans to help support their families. Love that, and I know I’ll be carrying my bag all summer long!
My next favorite is my new favorite bathing suit. I tried a new company, Carve Designs, and I am so incredibly pleased. I prefer a bit more coverage and a more athletic style suit, and that is exactly what this suit provides. I also love that the top is reversible, which gives me a couple options for styling it! And, I loved that I camouflaged with the palm trees – ha!
My final favorite is the cocktail we enjoyed while taking a cocktail class, this Fijian Tai, Fiji’s take on a Mai Tai. I will definitely be remaking these all summer long as a way to remember Fiji. And, if you want to add a little tropical flavor to your summer, you should make these too!
Here are the ingredients for one cocktail:
- 2 tbsp Fijian dark rum
- 2 tbsp Fijian light rum
- 2 tbsp guava juice
- 2 tbsp pineapple juice
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- Splash of grenadine
- Top with your tropical fruit of choice
It is so yummy! Enjoy! And happy weekend!
Party on!
