This weekend, I had the privilege of attending Glamp Weekend. This annual fundraising weekend, hosted by Girl Scouts of Western Washington, invites women to spend the weekend at Camp River Ranch experiencing lots of activities and supporting sending Girl Scouts to camp through generous donations.
I was at the event in two capacities – one representing Julie Wendell Events and the other as a Girl Scouts staff member – both equally fun!
I started the day with my Julie Wendell Events hat on, teaching flower arranging classes to the participants. I loved getting to spend time with the Glampers, sharing my passion for flower arranging and teaching them some useful tips. Each Glamper created a beautiful fall arrangement that was used on Saturday night for the Glamp Dinner, and then they got to take their arrangements home. And bonus, since it was Girl Scout camp, everyone earned a flower arranging badge!
After my classes wrapped for the day, I transitioned to my Girl Scout staffer role and made the short trek up to the camp lodge to help set up for the dinner. The flower arrangements looked so great and were the perfect addition to the beautiful views from the lodge. Dinner included a live auction, delicious food, great wine, and time with so many inspiring women.
All in all, $300,000 was raised during the weekend, which will be used to give so many Girl Scouts the chance to experience Girl Scout camp. In addition to my flower arranging class, there was terrarium making, wine tasting, candle making, and classic camp activities like canoeing, rock climbing, and hiking. You can see the full schedule from Saturday here. It was a great opportunity for sisterhood, relaxation, and philanthropy and I’m already looking forward to next year!
Were you at Glamp? If so, what was your favorite part? If not, let me know if you’d like to join next year and I’ll get you the details.
Party on!
