I am so excited to share the details of a gift basket I created for a Christmas party we attended this weekend. I had so much fun putting the basket together, and it turned out to be pretty popular during the gift exchange game, so it was a win win!
I always love putting together cocktail gift sets for the holidays, and for this party in particular since the gift exchange is food themed.
My first step was creating the printable for the basket. I found the picture of the cocktail on a free graphics site, and used the online editing software, Templett to add the title, ingredients, and instructions. I sized it to be 5×7 and ordered mini clipboards here to display the art. If you want to use this same printable for your own gin gift basket, download it here, and tag me in your pics so I can see!
I found a wooden basket that was the exact size I needed at our local Fred Meyer, along with the limes and straws. I visited Total Wine to purchase the tonic and liquor because I love that they have a whole section of smaller sized liquor bottles perfect for this type of gift.
To build the basket, I first tucked in some food safe crinkle (because of the limes). Then I added in the clipboard in the back, tied with a black and white striped ribbon. In front of that I added the gin, elderflower liquor, and tonic. I tucked the limes in the front, tied the straws up with twine, and the gift was ready for gifting!
I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I’m already brainstorming ideas for next year. To see other holiday gift baskets I’ve gifted in the past and ideas I love, visit this post and this post.
Merry Christmas Eve eve!
Party on!

Thanks for sharing this. My daughter was participating in an art show recently at the opening of a distillery. I bought a bottle of gin there as a gift for my brother and his wife and was thinking of some kind of basket. I love your basket for the gin cocktail, a lovely gift!
