This week I hosted my work team in a virtual planning retreat and we had so much fun! In years past, we’ve been able to get away for a couple nights, so since this year’s retreat was virtual, I wanted to make it feel like we were on a getaway. Today I’m sharing my favorites from our Tropical Retreat!
To commemorate the retreat, I worked with an incredibly talented colleague on our Marketing Team to design a team logo, and it’s my first favorite – isn’t it so cute?!
I had stickers ordered from my favorite printing company, stickermule. Mine is already on my water bottle, and it serves as a great reminder of our time together. I also used the logo in the retreat PowerPoint to make the whole event cohesive.
My next favorite is the tropical reTREAT kits I sent to my team to set the tone for our time together.
I ordered personalized straw bags to hold all the reTREAT contents, and inside, in addition to the Program Team sticker, I included…
Honolulu Cookie Co. cookies
Mauna Loa macadamia nuts
Hawaiian volcano water with a flamingo pool floatie
Sunglasses,
Coconut hand sanitizer
A beachy candle from one of my favorite small businesses
A personalized tropical notepad and pineapple pen, and
A beachy facemask
Another favorite was my tropical mantle makeover. Our fireplace is in the background of my Teams Meetings, so I always like to dress it up for the occasion. I had all the items on hand from previous tropical-themed parties, and I loved getting to put them to use again.
And, of course I had to dress the part! My next favorite is the flamingo jacket I wore one of the days. I ordered this jacket last year and hadn’t had a chance to wear it until now, so our Tropical Retreat was the perfect opportunity to debut it.
My final favorite was spending time with my team, creating some great strategies to take us into 2022 and getting to know each other better.
And if you’re missing the beach as much as I am, check out these posts for a little virtual escape to Fiji or Hawaii! And if you need a little tropical cocktail to sip on for your virtual escape, might I suggest a Mai Tai? Recipe here.
Aloha and party on!
