Another year, another successful Kamp KΔ is in the books! One of my volunteer roles is serving as an advisor for my sorority, and each year we host a leadership retreat for the newly elected chapter officers. This year marks 10 (!!!) years of Kamp, and I love it more and more each year. This year, we opted for a hybrid one-day event due to the weather and COVID.
We hosted the event at my office, and I decorated a couple tables and created a photo backdrop. I used the Kamp KD decor we’ve used for years, introducing a few new items, like a balloon garland, and some of my own KD office decor. I also created some flower arrangements highlighting the pink, purple, and green color scheme, and I had to include the KD flower, a white rose, of course!
Everyone got a Kamp t-shirt and water bottle at their seat, along with a nametag, mask, notepad, and folder filled with officer info to get them started.
We catered Qdoba for lunch and a local BBQ place for dinner, and had plety of snacks available throughout the day, including this fun candy charcuterie, which matched the color scheme!
We cover a variety of topics, including sorority policies and procedures, leadership skills, and fierce conversations, plus we gave the collegiate women a chance to ask questions, brainstorm for the upcoming semester, and build sisterhood.
Kamp is something I look forward to every year as a way to kick off the term, and I’m so glad we were able to make the hybrid format work for us this year!
Already looking forward to Kamp 2023! If you want to read about previous Kamp retreats, check them out here:
Party on!
