Last week I had the pleasure of cohosting a fun “not a baby shower” baby shower for some of our favorite friends! Since they wanted it to be “not a baby shower,” we thought, ok, let’s theme it the most non-baby thing – BEER – and thus “A Baby Is Brewing” was born. I had so much fun bringing this idea to life!
My most favorite element of the shower was the custom koozies I designed on Etsy. They made a great gift for everyone to take home and fit the theme perfectly.
Another fun favor for guests was the beer-scented soaps I found that were a big hit. I added some themed tags from the printables set I ordered to give them an extra touch.
Of course no shower would be complete without a yummy dessert, and these themed sugar cookies were the perfect treat. We also had a bunch of other tasty treats for everyone to enjoy. The dessert bar was a big hit. How cute are those little cupcake toppers?!
We opted for a bunch of yummy appetizers for guests to enjoy, including my favorite – babies in a blanket. YUM YUM!!
I also created a fun mocktail mule for the shower, and it was a delicious treat for everyone to enjoy.
Mocktail Mule (recipe serves one):
fill glass with ice
add 3 oz. blood orange syrup*
top with ginger beer, stir
garnish with blood orange slice and mint
*make it a cocktail by adding 2 oz. vodka
And, I’m sure you’re not shocked to hear that I created a balloon garland for this event – my current favorite design element! I found some beer stein mylar balloons and they were a great addition to the garland. I also had a tassle garland in the party colors and the gold and white table runner to pull the whole look together. Both were ordered here.
What shower would be complete without some fun games?! These games might just be my favorite shower games yet – pacifier pong and bottle chug. I ordered the beer/bottle garland here, and got the pacifers and baby bottles at Dollar Tree.
And of course we had to make sure baby girl has an outfit to commemorate this special celebration, so I found this adorable onesie!!
This shower was such a great celebration, and we can’t wait for Baby L to be here later this month. We already love you so much, sweet girl!
Party on!
