I’m excited to start a new series of blog posts sharing all about the various resorts at Walt Disney World. I’m kicking off this series with a review of Disney’s Yacht Club. I stayed at Yacht Club on my most recent trip, and it was lovely!
You’re introduced to the nautical style of this resort immediately as you enter the lobby, with its rich wood finishes and varying shades of blue.
Adjacent to the lobby is the The Market at Ale & Compass. This one-stop-shop is where you can find grab and go items, and is also attached to the gift shop with a great selection of Disney merchandise.
The dining options here are fantastic. I’ve had the pleasure of dining at the Ale & Compass Lounge, and have had a few clients who have dined at the Ale & Compass Restaurant and Yachtsman’s Steakhouse. My experience and theirs have been top notch!
If poolside dining is more your vibe, that’s available too, via Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill. This charming spot has walk-up and chair service for all pool guests, with delicious drinks and food.
Speaking of the pool, Stormalong Bay can’t be missed! The pool here is shared with the Beach Club Resort, and has so many incredible features. There’s a giant waterslide from a shipwreck, a sandy bottom pool, a lazy river, and tons of scenic spots to lounge.
And if you’re looking to upgrade your pool experience, consider renting a cabana! I had the chance to tour a cabana and speak to a cast member about details, and I was impressed. The cabanas are super nice, and come with some great amenities, including a dedicated cast member, comfortable furniture, a TV and charging outlets, complimentary soda and water, a fruit tray, and more!
Right near the pool there is a nice bathroom with changing spaces and showers, which makes the pool a perfect arrival or departure day activity because you can get dressed in the bathrooms without access to your hotel room.
The rooms at the Yacht Club are spacious and feature the split bathroom that I love (the tub/shower and toilet are in a separate room from the vanity). There is a ton of storage, a fridge, and coffee maker. The room I booked was a water view room, with an incredible view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk Inn. It was the Princess Half Marathon Weekend, and the route ran right along the Boardwalk, so I had a bird’s eye view of the runners but none of the noise, so it was perfect!!
I took the opportunity to do a load of laundry while I was at the hotel, and it was super convenient. You can use a card or cash, and they have detergent and laundry sheets available for purchase if you need them.
The Yacht Club is walking distance to Epcot (or you can take the boat). Hollywood Studios is accessible via boat or the Skyliner, and Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom can be accessed via bus or car. I love the variety of transportation options available, and being able to walk to Epcot is an absolute favorite feature of mine!
I loved my stay at the Yacht Club, and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to clients.
Have you stayed at Yacht Club? What did you think? Interested in staying here on your next trip? Let’s chat, I’d love to tell you more!
Let’s go!
