Friday Favorites: Kamp Kaydee 2019

Last weekend, I hosted the annual sorority retreat with my chapter advisor sisters for the newly elected chapter council. Kamp Kaydee, as it was named when we hosted it for the first time six years ago, is an opportunity for us to come together for a glamping weekend.

The retreat focuses on leadership development, goal setting, and planning for the semester ahead. It’s always such a fun weekend, and my favorites today are all things Kamp! Continue reading

Kamp Kappa Delta 2019

This weekend, I hosted another Kamp Kappa Delta with my sorority advisor sisters. We host this retreat as an opportunity to get to know the newly elected chapter officers and help prepare them for their term. I always look forward to this weekend because we are fully immersed in our sisterhood for 24 hours, and it is truly a time to bond and learn.

Friday Favorites: ΚΔ Christmas Parties

Happy Friday! I’m taking today off of work to do some last minute prep for my annual ΚΔ Christmas Party with my sorority sisters! On my to-do list – the flower shop, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Total Wine… Whew, I better get going!!

Kaydee Christmas is an event I look forward to every year, and I love coming up with a new and different theme to change it up each time. Today’s favorites are reflecting on all the fun themes!!

My first favorite is the 12s Days of Christmas I put together back in 2014! This was a Seahawks-themed Christmas. For all my non-Seattle friends, Seahawks fans are referred to as 12s. The gifts were themed after the 12 Days of Christmas and the color scheme was green and blue. I loved that this theme was a little different than the typical red and green.

Julie Travels: Sorority Recruitment Week

Hi there! I’m back to my blog today after a busy couple of weeks in Pullman, Washington at Washington State University. I recently changed roles on the advisory board I serve on for my sorority and now support the sorority recruitment process!

Since the recruitment process is basically a week of parties, I thought it’d be fun to highlight a few of the days here.

First up, I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to the person who planned recruitment, the chapter’s VP-Membership, Cali. She and her assistant Delaney did an amazing job and it was a wonderful week of sisterhood and celebration.

This year, 1100 women registered for sorority recruitment Continue reading

Kappa Delta Sisterhood Banquet

It’s that time of year again – graduation and banquet season! I have the pleasure of helping to plan the Sisterhood Banquet for the Kappa Delta Chapter at Washington State. It is definitely one of my favorite events of the year. Last year, I did a modern garden theme with black and white stripes and bright florals.

Read all the details here.

This year, since the banquet fell on the WSU Chapter’s Founder’s Day, I thought it’d be fun to go with a “Classic Kappa Delta” theme, meaning lots of green & white and white roses.

Since set-up time was super short, I wanted to keep the centerpieces simple. I opted for Continue reading

April Showers: Mrs. Has A Nice Ring To It

They say April showers bring May flowers, so I thought it’d be fun to talk about my favorite kind of showers – parties celebrating milestones – this month!

This week, I’m talking all things wedding/engagement showers! I’ve had the honor to throw several wedding/engagement showers for special friends over the years. I like to make each shower unique to match the personality of the honoree/s, but each also has some similarities too.

Today I’m going to share the details of a fun engagement shower I threw for a sorority sister of mine. I found some great engagement party decorations at Paper Source, which helped me come up with my theme: “Mrs. Spane Has A Nice Ring To It”

I bought all Continue reading

Friday Favorites: Kamp Kappa Delta

Happy Friday and Happy Three-Day Weekend! YAHOO!

This week, I’ve been sharing all about Kamp Kappa Delta, which is a camp I co-host every January as an advisor for the Kappa Delta chapter at Washington State University. It’s a leadership retreat where we do team building and goal setting, and it’s so much fun! My first favorite this week is definitely the memories from that special time with my sisters.

Kamp Kappa Delta 2018

Hey there! This week, I’m fresh off a weekend leadership retreat for my sorority. I co-host this event for the new chapter council in Kappa Delta Sorority at Washington State University.

A team of alumnae advise the chapter remotely (we all live on the west side of the state, and they are on the east side), so it was important to us to find a way to connect with them right away in their term as leaders of the chapter. We came up with this idea six years ago, and it’s been really successful so we continue to do it each year.

Tasty Tuesday: Cinnamon Pull Aparts

Hello there, and happy Tuesday! It’s great to be back to blogging after a bit of a break. After the holidays, I got to work prepping for Kamp Kappa Delta, and now that the Kamp is over, I am excited to return to blogging.

Kamp Kappa Delta is a weekend leadership retreat I cohost with the women I volunteer with to support the Kappa Delta chapter at Washington State University. This week, I’ll be sharing the details of the weekend.

Friday Favorites: Birthday Week

Happy Friday! This has been an extra fun week because I celebrated my 36th birthday on Wednesday, and that’s my first favorite 🙂

I took the day off of work, and Chelsea, Penny, and I went for a hike and then out to lunch in Leavenworth. Leavenworth is a little Bavarian Village in the mountains, and it is so charming! Our hike was great, too, because we had the trail totally to ourselves and the fall colors were gorgeous.
