Father’s Day Celebration Ideas

Since it’s Thursday, here’s a #tbt of my favorite picture of my dad and me.

And now, it’s time to talk about celebrating dad! I decided to use Father’s Day cards as my inspiration for themes, so after a trip to Paper Source, I settled on these three cards:

First up is the Coolest Pop Ever card – I went with a fun red, white and blue POP theme.

Of course I had to buy some bomb pops! And, I found a couple simple cocktail options that incorporate them (champagne and a bomb pop or sprite, vodka and a bomb pop). I also found those Dad’s sodas in the specialty soda section of my grocery store, and then added some popcorn, too. Super simple and could easily accompany any indoor or outdoor meal.

Next up was the Dad, You’re So Fly card and I incorporated fish into this theme.

I kept the blue glitter paper (from Paper Source) as my base, and layered on that great fish paper (also from Paper Source). I found that fun tray at Crate and Barrel, and if you’re loving this theme, you could also pick up the dishes they have to match. I carried over the same flower arrangement and the Dad’s sodas from the other theme. Then I changed out my glassbaby to match the colors here, and added some Sweedish fish, and I was set! A great meal to go with this theme would be fish, of course – grilled salmon, fish tacos, fish and chips. YUM!

The last theme is inspired by the Dad, You’re My Anchor card.

Again, I carried over several items from the other themes. I changed out the paper for this beautiful anchor paper with napkins to match (both from Paper Source). The anchor banner (also from Paper Source)  could be hung up in the house or it could be used in place of ribbon to wrap around a gift! A seafood meal with this theme would pull it all together.

Just for fun, I pulled together another theme that was inspired by one of my favorite memories from elementary school – Donuts with Dad!

This theme would be a great way to kick off Father’s Day. The donuts paper has been one of my favorites at Paper Source for a while – I love how bright and cheery it is!

I used a lot of my favorite Summer Party essentials to bring these themes to life, and each theme came together quickly thanks a quick stop at Paper Source. And if you don’t have a Paper Source near you, you could use one of these cards as an inspiration to make your own party sign using poster board, canvas, or a wooden pallet. You can totally make any of these themes happen by Sunday!
