Ringing in 2019

With just a few days to prep for NYE, I enjoy checking out shops in person to see what they have in stock for the celebration. This year I love what I found at Crate and Barrel. Their NYE collection is a collaboration with Layer Cake and it is perfection! I love the color scheme – a mix of pink, mauve, gold, and grey. I also love that it’s not specific to New Year’s, so I can use it for other celebrations throughout the year.

Noon Year’s Eve Charcuterie Board

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday surrounded by loved ones! We had a lovely time celebrating with Chelsea’s family. Now, as we prepare to ring in the new year, I am excited to share a great idea for your party – big or small – a charcuterie board!

I don’t know about you, but I struggle to make it to midnight on New Year’s Eve, so I’m excited about the concept of Noon Year’s Eve, which makes going to bed at my normal bedtime of 9 p.m. perfectly acceptable. 😉

A charcuterie board is nice because you can cater it to the exact needs of your group. You can also customize the amount of food based on the size of your group. And, it’s perfect for noon or a midnight snack!

Dressed in Holiday Style Party: Flower Arranging

Last weekend, I hosted the annual Christmas Party for my sorority sisters! I went with a line from the song “Silver Bells” for my theme, “Dressed in Holiday Style.” Yesterday, I shared all the decor details (see those here), and today I’m sharing all about our party activity – making flower arrangements!

Last year, we made wreaths and it was a big hit, so I assumed flower arranging would be met with similar excitement and it was!

Dressed in Holiday Style Party

This weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting the annual Kappa Delta Christmas Party for my sorority sisters! Read about our previous party themes here.

This year, I took a line from the song “Silver Bells” for my theme, and went with “Dressed in Holiday Style.” It was so fun to bring this theme to life in a unique way. Here’s how I did it…

My first step was selecting the invitations to set the tone for the party. I used my favorite online invitation platform, Paperless Post for the invitations.

Friday Favorites: Fa La La La La!

Happy Fa La La Friday! This week, I’ve been a busy little elf getting our house decorated for Christmas!! After our house was taken over by wedding decorations for the last several months, I was feeling sort of Grinch-y about re-cluttering our space, but Christmas only comes once per year, right?! I did downsize our decorations a bit this year and limited the decor to the front porch, our tree, mantle, kitchen table, and nativity.

Welcome to my holiday house tour, all of my favorite things this week! If you want to see a video tour – check out my Instagram story here!

I went classic this year with lots of plaid, red, and green, and I’m loving it!

Turn a wedding invitation into a creative gift!

It’s been two weeks since our wedding, and I’m still on a wedding high reflecting on all the details and feeling so much love from our friends and family. Read about some of our wedding details here. We received so many wonderful gifts in celebration of our big day, and one of my favorites was our wedding invitation turned into an ornament. It is such a treasured keepsake and something I know we’ll enjoy each holiday season.
