I’m so excited to have my home decorated for the holiday season, and I love adding new decor each year! A recent trip to Hobby Lobby led me to this awesome kit by Heidi Swapp (I have LOVED Heidi ever since I started scrapbooking in college, and her most recent collection did not disappoint!).
I had been planning to update my gallery wall for the holiday, so when I spotted this tree, I knew it’d be the perfect addition! As you can see above, it comes with everything you’d need and it comes together with minimal effort if that’s what you’re seeking.
First I layered on the green glitter tree (already pre-punched – yay!) and the clear “Merry Christmas” overlay (also pre-punched for the lights).
I wasn’t loving the stickers, so I decided to just go with the overlays in this first effort. Next up was adding the bulbs, which fit perfectly into all the holes in the tree.
The bulbs were secured on the backside with the white plastic fasteners.
I put two AAA batteries into the battery pack and secured it to the velcro (already adhered to the tree – easy-peasy!). Then I punched the string of lights through the white plastic backing.
Once everything was in place, I flipped the switch and my marquee tree was ready to go!
I first tried it with my bold, bright Christmas trees in our office, but ultimately decided that the gallery wall was the perfect place for it. What do you think?!
This craft was super simple and quick, and I think it’ll be a Christmas decoration I continue to use year after year!
Party on!
