It’s full-blown holiday mode over here and I’m loving every minute! Sunday I hosted my sorority’s annual Christmas party, and last night was my Girl Scout troop’s party (I’ll be sharing the details of that tomorrow – check back!).
In the midst of holiday parties, I find it can be easier to stick to one dish or one drink to bring to every event. This works especially well if you’re hosting different groups and/or seeing different groups of people at each party. And, even if you’re seeing some or all of the same people, if you bring a winning dish/drink, they’ll be happy to see it on repeat 🙂
For me this year, my staple was Poinsettia Punch. I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought it’d be perfect because it works great as a cocktail and a mocktail, so it works for all my events. Bonus – it’s super easy!!
Here are the ingredients…
Champagne and/or sparkling cider
Pomegranate juice
Pomegranate seeds
Rosemary
For a big batch, use a full bottle of sparkling cider/champagne, plus two cups of pomegrante juice, a half cup of pomegranate seeds, and have the rosemary on the side for garnish.
Instead of a big batch, you could set out all the ingredients and guests can make it to their taste. With so few ingredients, it’s simple enough for your guests to build on their own.
If you’re going to set everything out, put the seeds in a small dish, lay out the rosemary on a plate or platter, pour your pomegranate juice into a festive vessel, then open your champagne/sparkling cider.
A few years ago, I learned an awesome tip to avoid an explosive bottle of champagne and it hasn’t failed me yet: as you’re twisting the cork, twist the bottle in the opposite direction, and you won’t get any over flow. Genius, right?!
In addition to setting out the ingredients, add a festive poinsettia plant for that finishing touch.
It’s as delicious as it is beautiful, and it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser!
Party on!
