This week has been so fun! I’ve been off work, but just as busy with holiday events and preparing for Christmas!
My first favorite this week was our trip to Snowflake Lane on Saturday with Chelsea’s brother, SIL, and the triplets! Snowflake lane is a festive holiday parade in downtown Bellevue with Christmas characters and carols. It was a great way to kick off Christmas break!
On Sunday, I hosted my sorority Christmas party, a favorite for sure! Read all about the fun we had here.
Monday was my annual Christmas party with my Girl Scout troop. This merry and bright event was another favorite this week. Check it out here.
My next favorite this week was all the gift wrapping fun! I fell in love with the Sugar Paper LA collection from Target this year (in fact, I made a wreath out of it!), so that, along with my favorite tartan plaid paper (from The Container Store), was my my wrapping paper assortment for the season.
The takeout container above holds a restaurant gift card inside. I thought that would be a fun way to dress up a gift card! This takeout container and the fun checkerboard paper are from one of my favorite local shops, PS Stores. I also picked up supplies to wrap the treats I’ll take to Chelsea’s family on Christmas.
And that leads me to my final favorite, my Christmas treats! I shared my favorite gifts in a jar a few weeks ago, and this year I decided to change it up a bit and I’m doing gifts in a box. I made Christmas Crack this year, an amazing treat I tried at Jenny Cookies Bake Shop that I was immediately hooked on. Jenny does a great job with the instructions on her video here.
And my step-by-step photos are here…
As you can see above, my peanut butter mixture has a few chunks. I ran out of creamy peanut butter, so I used my all natural cremunchy peanut butter from CBNuts (I highly recommend this peanut butter. It is yummy!). Jenny mentioned in her video that you can use either creamy or crunchy, so mine has a combo, and tastes delicious.
While the crack was in the freezer, I got to work on the packaging. I gathered my supplies, and cut out the recipe cards and tags (designed by Harper Gray Designs).
Those darling tiny bottle brush trees were a fun find at the Target dollar spot!! I pulled the crack out of the freezer, then used my pizza cutter to cut it into randomly sized pieces.
I put the checkerboard paper inside the box, and piled in the Christmas crack. I tied each box up with baker’s twine, then added a tag and tree to the top. On the back of the box, I used a clothespin to clip the recipe card to the twine.
I’m really excited to gift these treats on Christmas Day! I hope you have a wonderful, and very merry, Christmas!
Party on!
