I am so looking forward to the fresh start of 2017, and what better way to kick that off than with a celebration to ring in the new year?! Today I’m sharing my five favorites to make any NYE party, big or small, a lot of fun!
My first favorite is my Champagne Mule recipe. This delicious cocktail is sure to be a crowd pleaser, and I love that all the ingredients are multipurpose. Check out the details here.
Another NYE party favorite is a Bubbly Bar where guests can try different types of champagne! This could also be a sparkling cider bar, as there are tons of great sparkling cider options out there, too. Check out the details here.
You’ll notice above a couple sweet treats, and that’s my next favorite thing for a NYE party. Because give me all the desserts! I’m lucky to have a lot of great bakery options here in the Seattle area. My favorites are Jenny Cookies, Simply Sweet Cupcakes, Cupcake Royale, and Trophy Cupcakes – all of whom are doing special desserts for New Year’s Eve.
If you don’t have a bakery you love in your area, I found this recipe for a delicious DIY champagne cupcake. I just love the topper she used too – so great! (I also love her blog. If you’re looking for another party planning blog, hers is a must read)
And then, of course, every party needs partywares for the guests to enjoy all these delicious treats! Target has an amazing collection this year and it’s my next favorite.
Isn’t it so cute?! I love the art deco feel, and I love that, with the exception of the 2017 plates, everything could be reused again next year.
I set my table, using my champagne-colored placemats and white and gold windowcheck cloth napkins (all from Pier One). Those were previously used on my Christmas table, and I love how versatile they are for many seasons and events.
I added a NYE party hat (from Party City) at each spot, plus a pushpop confetti popper (from Target), and the places were set.
My final favorite is the centerpiece at the table. I love the idea of using clocks to decorate for NYE, so I found a few gold clocks at Target that fit in perfectly, and I accented with purple. I really like the richness of a deep purple and it’s a nice contrast from how I decorated for Christmas so it feels fresh.
All of the clocks are set right around midnight, but they could also have batteries in them to display the actual time and be used to watch the clock for the countdown!
Another great thing about this type of centerpiece is that it can be incorporated into regular house decor after NYE. This particular grouping will be a great January mantle!
Whether you celebrate the New Year by ringing it in with an earlier time zone than your own (like me!) or you’re out all night (go you!), I hope you have a safe and happy celebration. Happy New Year!
Party on!
