2016 was a year full of parties and fun! Today I’m doing a look back on the highlights from the year.
2016 started with ringing in the new year with a quiet night at home. I had champagne in three forms – champagne jello shots, champagne cupcakes, and of course, champagne! I also had the opportunity to be the day-of coordinator for my friend’s wedding! It was a gorgeous event and I loved bringing her vision to life.
In February, I spent a few days in Dallas with my niece to celebrate her turning one! While I didn’t get to be in town on her actual birthday, I did get to contribute some decorations for her party and I had fun playing dress up with her while I was in town.
I think Gemma’s expression here is conveying her love for the big bow I selected 😉
March was a busy month of work travel, but I did have the opportunity to help Chelsea’s mom host a little sip ‘n see for the newest Ray addition, baby Henry!
My color scheme for Henry’s party was inspired by the “Oh Henry!” candy bar and I used the wrapper colors throughout all the decor.
March was also the month that this little cutie came into our lives!
In April, I spent about half the month in Florida for sorority business and a little vacation at the happiest place on earth!
Needless to say, my events in April were very limited, but I did get to host the Senior banquet for my sorority!
I loved the bright bold colors contrasting with the black and white!
May was the first month of my blog! My first post was about arranging flowers. Love me some peonies! I also hosted a Bachelorette watch party! (Side note, can’t wait for the new season of the Bachelor!)
In June it was a pineapple frenzy on the blog!
I hosted a pineapple party, made pineapple crafts, and made a pineapple wreath!
July parties were all on-the-go since they were hosted while on vacation. In Oregon, we hosted a Greek dinner and I was in charge of decor. In New Jersey, I brought decor to match our beachy family reunion.
The Olympics were the focus of August!
I co-hosted an Olympics party, made Olympics cocktails, made an Olympics photo prop, and created some Olympics desserts!
In September it was time to celebrate Back to School!
I just love having an excuse to incorporate school supplies into my decor for a party!! Read all about my Back to School parties here and here.
Chelsea and I also got to spend a few days in northern California with my parents!
October is Chelsea’s and my birthday month, so I blogged a lot about that! Chelsea and I went to the mountains for my birthday adventure and we had a low-key weeknight party to celebrate Chelsea’s birthday.
I also hosted a Harvest Brunch for my Girl Scout troop. We had a lot of fun brunching and visiting the pumpkin patch.
In November, Chelsea and I went to Hawaii! It was a wonderful trip.
We also traveled to Texas for Thanksgiving and had a great time celebrating both Thanksgiving and Christmas!
And that brings us to December. The holiday season was full and busy, but oh so fun!
I hosted a KD Christmas, a work party, and a Merry and Bright party. I also had fun getting our house holiday ready!
It was a wonderful year of celebrations with friends and family! I’m already looking forward to the fun events in store for 2017. Thanks for joining me on my journey to plan the perfect party. I love that you’re here!
Party on!
