It’s been a busy week of prep for this weekend’s sisterhood brunch! On Monday, I shared the letters I painted for the brunch. Get those details here.
Today I’m sharing the details for the tablescape we’ll create in the banquet space. We’re in a large empty room and we’re bringing in pipe and drape to line the walls, so we’ll basically have a blank canvas to work with. There will be 20 table tops, and each one will be a little unique, but all with the same basic garden party theme in mind.
Each table will have a plain white tablecloth, and on top of that we will layer black and white striped paper with a floral placemat.
For ease, we’re using disposable plates, cups, and utensils. Those will be at each place-setting. I went for muted versions of the colors in the placemat so that they wouldn’t overpower.
Part of the brunch is recognizing and celebrating the senior members, so we always do something a little extra at their tables. This year, the extra touch will be place cards that I made using Carrara marble tiles and a gold paint pen. The block of tiles costs about $15.00, and there are about 30 useable tiles on each block (some are textured, so I opted to not use those since it’d be harder to write on them) so it’s inexpensive. It’s also very easy and adds an extra touch of elegance.
Each senior member will also be gifted with her graduation stole and welcomed into the Alumnae Circle of Kappa Delta during the brunch.
For the centerpiece, we’re keeping it simple with a vase filled with brightly colored flowers (I’m making a trip to Pike Place Market on Friday to pick those up – follow my Insta story to see what I find!) and candles.
This is definitely one of my favorite projects every year to partner with the collegians on, and I’m really loving how everything is coming together. I’m also totally loving the contrast of the stripes and florals and I think it’s modern and fresh and the perfect theme for a sisterhood celebration!
Check back Friday to see more details of the brunch, and then I’ll be sharing pictures from the event on Sunday on Instagram!
Party on!
