Yay, it’s December!! I have so much fun stuff planned for this month, and I’m really looking forward to all of it. And I love that we had an extra week after Thanksgiving to get ready for Christmas, which has me feeling like I’ll really be able to enjoy the season.
This week, I’ve been sharing the decorations around our house. I changed up a few things this year, and kept some things the same as previous years. I love being able to use my sentimental items every year, and mix in some fun new stuff as well.
My first favorite this week is the blog post I shared on Monday about our Christmas trees. We have a classic tree with gold, pearl, and olive accents, and then a mini tree with all our travel ornaments.
I love doing a non-traditional tree topper, like the flowers on our tall tree and the big plaid bow on our travel tree. Check out all the details about both trees here.
Another favorite this week is the post I shared on Tuesday all about our kitchen decorations. I am hosting a party at home in a couple weeks, so I was inspired by that party’s theme in the kitchen. It’s classic red and green with plaid and oh, so festive!
I loved incorporating all my red and green trees into this tablescape. Get the details here.
My next favorite this week is the other decorations I put up around the house. These are all repeats from previous years, and I love them just the same.
My package wreath is one of my all time favorite decorations. I’m hosting a Plaid Tidings party next weekend, and it’ll be the perfect decoration to welcome guests. I blogged about how I made that wreath last year – you can check out that post here.
Yesterday, I shared a recipe for a pepperminty, toasty warm cocktail called Rosy Cheeks Cocktail. It is so delicious and definitely a favorite this week.
The mug really takes it to the next level of festive, don’t you think?! 🙂 Get the recipe here.
My final favorite this week is my Christmas mantle. Like most of America, I wanted all. the. things. from Magnolia’s Hearth and Hand Collection, and I was so drawn to the black, white, and green color scheme that I decided to use that for my wrapping paper and mantle decorations this year.
I was really drawn to the houses in the Hearth and Hand collection, and since we are going home for the holidays this year, I decided to go with a “There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays” theme. I used my felt letter board for the quote, and put that front and center among the houses on the mantle.
I bought some of the Hearth and Hand wrapping paper, and a few of their decor items, and then mixed in some other things from Target, Homegoods, and Michaels to come up with my finished product. Chelsea also helped me out by making a few basic house shapes out of wood, then I stained those and gave them a glittering snowy roof. I also bough a papier-mâché house and gave that a glitter makeover. To complete the look, I mixed in some of my glassybaby and added a giant black and white buffalo plaid pillow.
I think this just might be my new favorite color combination. I’m loving it!!
Thanks for taking a tour of our home at Christmas, and happy holiday season to you and yours!
Party on!
