This weekend, I hosted a Plaid Tidings Party and it was so much fun! When I asked my girlfriends what they wanted to do at our annual holiday gathering this year, they said they wanted me to teach them how to make wreaths. I happily obliged! And since I want all the plaid things right now, I thought a Plaid Tidings Wreath Making Party would be the perfect event. To set the tone right off the bat, I used Paperless Post to send e-invitations.
Since I hosted this party at someone else’s house, all my decorations had to be portable and easy to set up/take down, so I limited it to one main themed table, plus the crafting table. I love the mixtures of plaid throughout, from the wreath ribbons, to plaid ornaments, to the plates and napkins!
I gathered all the greens from my favorite local nursery, got wreath frames, ribbon, and a special wreath clamp tool, and the craft was all set! If you want to know all about how these wreaths are made, check out my post from last year here.
On the party table, I used plaid wrapping paper, a greenery wreath, and some plaid ornaments to bring the theme to life.
In the kitchen, I used my plaid plates and napkins, plus my plaid platters for serving food. We did the food potluck style, and everyone brought their favorite brunch dish to share.
Once my girlfriends arrived, I was having so much fun, I only took one (low quality, eeks!) picture of us with our finished wreaths!
Check back here all week – I’ll be sharing other details from the party! If you want to see our party last year, you can read that here.
Party on!
