This weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting the annual Kappa Delta Christmas Party for my sorority sisters! Read about our previous party themes here.
This year, I took a line from the song “Silver Bells” for my theme, and went with “Dressed in Holiday Style.” It was so fun to bring this theme to life in a unique way. Here’s how I did it…
My first step was selecting the invitations to set the tone for the party. I used my favorite online invitation platform, Paperless Post for the invitations.
I love Paperless Post because they have so many great options, you can message your guest easily, and you can customize components like envelope liners to make the invites unique and special. I chose this Rifle Paper mistletoe design. I loved its classic simplicity.
When I was deciding on the decor, I knew I wanted to do some classic Christmas elements, and give them a stylish spin, so I opted to add in some pink, grey, and metallics with the traditional red and green. I love how it all came together. Here’s a peek…
I used trees of all different textures and sizes. I tucked them into some evergreen wreaths that I also embellished with lights, sprigs of berries, and large white poinsettia blooms. I added in some glassybaby votives and called it good!
For serveware, I kept things simple and opted for paper goods. I bought some napkins with metallic holly leaves, and white plates with a metalic gold rim.
For signage, I turned to Etsy and selected one of the festive and customizable digital downloads. I used this option for my wedding, and was so pleased with the Templett interface, so now I always look for that logo when selecting digital downloads. I love it because they have many font options, and you can fully customize your signs to suit your needs – you can rotate and resize graphics, add and delete text boxes, etc.!
We did a potluck style brunch, and I was in charge of the drinks! I created a mimosa and hot chocolate bar to add some variety for everyone!
For the hot chocolate bar, I had Irish cream, marshmallows, and peppermint stir sticks on hand to dress up the cocoa.
At the mimosa bar, I had orange mango juice, cranberry juice, and fruit to dress up the mimosas.
Everyone brought amazing food to share – it was a delicious meal!
The final decor element was the option for people to dress up their photos with a custom Snapchat filter! This was another easy creation using the Templett interface, and I love how it turned out!
I’ll be sharing some live videos from the party on my Instagram today, so head there if you want to see those! Check back the rest of the week as I share details about the party craft, gifts, and my “Dressed in Holiday Style” outfit!
Party on!
