Thirsty Thursday: Rosy Cheeks Cocktail

Happy Thursday! It’s been all things Christmas this week on my blog. On Monday and Tuesday, I shared the holiday decor in our house (you can read those posts here and here). Today, I’m sharing the perfect cocktail for sipping this season! It’s full of peppermint flavor, toasty warm, and great when the weather outside is frightful.

When I went to Victoria, B.C. with my Girl Scout troop a couple weeks ago, we stopped at an adorable little tea shop, Silk Road Teas, and I picked up a little tin of their loose leaf candy cane tea. I also found a festive Christmas mug and reindeer stirring spoon, and I couldn’t wait to use the tea to create a holiday cocktail to serve in my new mug! Here are a few snaps from our weekend in Victoria:

Make It Monday: Kids Thanksgiving Table

Hi friends, and happy Thanksgiving week! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, so I love coming up with a festive tablescape for the occasion. I was so inspired by the adorable Thanksgiving partywares Target carried this year, and I thought it’d be fun to pull some of it together to create a special kids’ table for Turkey Day. This would also be a great Friendsgiving table, if you haven’t celebrated that yet.

Here’s my haul from Target.

Friday Favorites: Apple Cup

Happy Friday! A week from today, our bellies will be full of turkey and it’ll be time for a weekend full of football! This week, I’ve been getting ready for the big rivalry game in Washington state, Apple Cup. It’s the annual game between Washington State University and the University of Washington.

I mentioned on Monday that we are a house divided, because Chelsea went to UW and I consider myself an honorary Coug since I work with the Kappa Delta chapter there. So my first favorite this week is the House Divided wreath I created on Monday in celebration of Apple Cup.

Thirsty Thursday: Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Cider Cocktail

Apple Cup is just ten days away, and I’m getting in the Apple Cup spirit on the blog this week in preparation. On Monday, I shared a fun house-divided wreath, and today I’m sharing a delicious, crowd-pleasing, and simple cocktail idea!

I found this amazing recipe on Pizzazzerie, and decided to try it out. It is so good, and I love that you can fix it and forget it – genius for a party.

Here’s what you need for a big batch: Continue reading

Make It Monday: House Divided Wreath

Thanksgiving is just over a week away, which also means the biggest college football rivalry games are coming soon, too. And in Washington state, that game is Apple Cup! I didn’t go to college in Washington, but since I work closely with the Kappa Delta chapter at Washington State University, I consider myself a Coug! Plus, the football coach, Mike Leach, coached at Texas Tech (Go Red Raiders!!) when I was a student there, so WSU is the obvious choice for my loyalty.

Chelsea went to the University of Washington, so come Apple Cup Weekend, we are a house divided!

I thought it’d be fun to celebrate Apple Cup with a new House Divided wreath for our front door. I visited Michaels for supplies, and came home ready to craft! Here’s what I bought:

I decided on the bolder wreath frame so that Continue reading
