Friday Favorites: New Year’s Eve!

I am so looking forward to the fresh start of 2017, and what better way to kick that off than with a celebration to ring in the new year?! Today I’m sharing my five favorites to make any NYE party, big or small, a lot of fun!

My first favorite is my Champagne Mule recipe. This delicious cocktail is sure to be a crowd pleaser, and I love that all the ingredients are multipurpose. Check out the details here.

Creating a Bubbly Bar

Champagne and New Year’s Eve go hand in hand, so a fun focal point for a NYE party is a Bubbly Bar, where you can have champagne, champagne flavored items, and festive treats.

New Year’s Eve decorations seem to be an after-thought for me. With the busy-ness of Christmas, it’s always something I feel like I’m scrambling to put together. This year was no exception. And with just one week between the two holidays, I am limited to what I can find locally. Fortunately, my local go-tos did not disappoint when it came to creating the Bubbly Bar!

I went to Target and Party City, and both spots have Continue reading

Friday Favorites: Feeling Festive!

This week has been so fun! I’ve been off work, but just as busy with holiday events and preparing for Christmas!

My first favorite this week was our trip to Snowflake Lane on Saturday with Chelsea’s brother, SIL, and the triplets! Snowflake lane is a festive holiday parade in downtown Bellevue with Christmas characters and carols. It was a great way to kick off Christmas break!

On Sunday, I hosted Continue reading

Merry and Bright Christmas Party

Monday night I hosted my Girl Scout troop for our annual Christmas party! Last year was the first year we had the party at my house, and it was so fun, the girls asked if I would host again. And, duh, of course I said yes 😉

I sent digital invitations out in late November after deciding on my theme – Merry and Bright! I love using Paperless Post for e-invitations – they have a great variety and I love the tracking system and event wall for guest comments.

Tasty Tuesday: Poinsettia Punch

It’s full-blown holiday mode over here and I’m loving every minute! Sunday I hosted my sorority’s annual Christmas party, and last night was my Girl Scout troop’s party (I’ll be sharing the details of that tomorrow – check back!).

In the midst of holiday parties, I find it can be easier to stick to one dish or one drink to bring to every event. This works especially well if you’re hosting different groups and/or seeing different groups of people at each party. And, even if you’re seeing some or all of the same people, if you bring a winning dish/drink, they’ll be happy to see it on repeat 🙂

For me this year, my staple was Poinsettia Punch. I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought it’d be perfect because it works great as a cocktail and a mocktail, so it works for all my events. Bonus – it’s super easy!!

Merry KhristmΔs Party!

Happy Monday! Last night I had the best time with my sorority sisters at our annual Christmas gathering! It was a smaller group than usual this year, but still just as much fun.

I’ve been throwing this party for the last several years, and for the last three years I’ve kept the theme a surprise from all the guests. Two years ago, I threw a 12s Days of Christmas Party and last year it was a Christmas Carols party. This year, the party centered around Christmas characters and I went with a classic red and green color scheme.

#tbt: Christmas Cookie Exchange Party

It’s been so fun to look back on past Christmas parties this month as I plan for this year’s holiday events! A couple weeks ago, I shared a #tbt to a 12 Days of Christmas party I hosted for my sorority sisters, and today I’m excited to share the details of a Cookie Exchange Party I hosted for my girls in my Girl Scout troop.

In the past, we’d always gone somewhere for our Christmas party (pottery painting, restaurants, etc.), so I was really excited to be hosting the girls at my house. Since it would be at home, I thought a pajama cookie exchange would make it feel really cozy, so I got to work finding the perfect invitation and Etsy did not disappoint!

Work Christmas Party

Yesterday was the Christmas Party at my office! Everyone volunteered to be in charge of different parts of the party. I signed up for decorations. Surprised?! Yeah, me neither. 😉

When I was brainstorming ideas, I knew my decor needed to be something I could set up quickly, and I would be limited on wall space. I have recently fallen in love with bottle brush trees, so I decided they’d be central to my theme. I love their vintage feel, and the wide variety of colors and styles.

As luck would have it, I found this amazing wrapping paper from Paper Source, so my idea was a go!
